Please try a very good quality high potency Oil of Oregano product. Oil of Oregano is fantastic for recurrent UTI's, yeast infections, sinusitis, and other issues. It is antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal. Very very effective. I like Biogenesis brand, but it's hard to find. Try New CHapter or American Health brands. Take often at first sign of UTI symptoms.

Best wishes

I have a similiar issue. I just got back from Puerto Rico after living there for four months. I don't have any health insurance. I have frequent UTIs but hadn't had one in over a year, which was good for me. I ended up getting a UTI at the beggining of the month (around Feb 2nd) and didn't seek assistance until the 16th. It never got very "bad" like the rest that I've had, just irritated when I urinated. I tried flushing it for 2 weeks with about 10 glasses of water a day and two to three glasses of 100% pressed cranberry juice, only cotton panties, no coffee, no alcohol and no spicy foods. It didn't work. I went to a Dr. in PR (which is ridiculously cheap and was the only reason I could go) and he prescibed me Ciprofloxacin and I took it twice a day for 4 days. I still had symptoms so I returned to the Dr. He did more labs and my urine was clear and contained no bacteria, my WBC was average and my pregnancy test came out negative (I'm not sexually active anymore, so it wasn't a huge shock). He prescribed me Batrim (sulpha-something or other) but I did not take it because I remembered this was the antibiotic that I was allergic to after I left his office. I have been trying to keep my urinary tract healthy with plenty of water and taking Nature's Secret Urinary Flush and Cleanse with cranberry twice a day but its still irritated when I urinate. I don't know what to do because I really can not afford to see a Doctor here at home and I also don't feel like its an "emergency" since I don't have a fever, I feel overall good and my urine is clear. What else could this be? I am very frustrated and want to pee pain free again. If this is something that other people have experienced, did your body ever finally flush it out? Or did you find out it was something different or more serious?

I have had a UTI for the past 3 months, had all sorts of tests - no cysts, no kidney stones, no chlamydia. Im female, 29. When I first went in for the infection (the UTI wasn't full blown, didn't hurt too much) they tested my urine there and said I had an infeciton.

After antibiotics didn't work I had a urine culture (3 days later) my results showed slightly high white blood cells, no bacteria. Went on more antibiotics. Still had UTI symptoms. Then I started to get lower back pain, thought it was kidney infection.. but now I don't think so since it isn't my kidneys that hurt, it is much lower, I think it is from taking all these different antibiotics.

My most recent urine test showed no infection at all (I had been on antibiotics 3 days prior). I still had lower back pain, a little pain after urination.

I stopped taking antibiotics for 2 weeks and just 2 days ago I got a full blown UTI, very painful (I have had many UTIs in the past and it is exactly the same). I went back on antibiotics (Nitrofurantoin). Now I can't tell if it is going away or not.

I hate taking all these antibiotics, the docs tell me to stop but at the same time they don't tell me what it is. A major problem is that im in a foreign country for some months and I don't speak the language well.

Reply/****you may not have a UTI. Sometime taking all those antibiotics damages the lining in your bladder which causes you to have symptoms. If you don't have bacteria when they run a urinlysis this may be the case. Drink alot of water and try a teaspoon of baking soda in water. This decreases the acidity of the urine so that your bladder feels less irritated. If you can find Prelief(sold over the counter) that helpl too. Dont drink or eat acidic food like wine, soda, tomato, lemon(pretty much any citrus). Do some research on Interstitial Cystitis and you might find that youre problem is not a UTI. Hope that helps.

I have a uti every 3-6 months and they can get pretty bad. I recently changed doctors because my last one did nothing but prescribe antibiotics that were too low a dose so I was back in two weeks to a month and tell me to wipe front to back. Something I have known since I was potty trained.

The new doctor listened to everything I said. She did a culture immediately asked what I was given in the past. She also said they were going to test the bacteria to see if it was resistant to the antibiotic she prescribed just in case. I had 3 days of Cipro, so far the bleeding and swelling have stopped as well as the sensation and pressure. If your doctor isnt cutting it do not be afraid to find a new one.

I recently learned as well three very important things.

1. DO NOT TAKE AZO for more than 3 days. It actually binds to your blood and can kill you or atleast land you in the hospital.

2. Try not to wear pads or sanitary napkins they carry bacteria from back to front, they breed bacteria especially bad.

3. If you have dogs or cats they have E. Coli on their fur. Wash your hands before and after using the bathroom or anything else involving that area.

I am experiencing the same thing right now. And the only thing I can come up with is an allergic reaction to a new birth control I am on. If you use NuvaRing there have been a number of other women who are experiencing the same thing. My "UTI" shows no infection, but very elevated red and white blood cells. I'm hoping by taking the ring out in two days the problem will be resolved

Hi everyone, wow reading through everyones UTI stories I realised how common this REALLY is. Well here is my story, in July last year I had a pain in the kidney region I thought it was a pulled muscle but by the evening it got alot worse, went to the DRs and they checked urine and sent me to hospital I was there overnight and home the next day with 7 days anti biotics. The week at home just got worse and worse, in the end my husband had tobring a day bed down into the lounge for me i could not even go up the stairs. After the last day of pills i went back and the Dr sent me back to the hospital, I never even heard of a UTi before htis time. THings got really bad in hospital I had fevers, shivers, my tempertaure would ot come down. After scans they found a collection next to my right kidney, I had Pyelonephritis!!!! Shock horror what the **** is Pyelonephritis.
They drained the pus, well tried to anyway, had alot of anti biotics, a catheter was places for 24 hours but after removal of it I was not able to wee naturally I had to self catheterise for about a week till things go to normal. Last week I was having symptoms of a UTI , my only one since last year so I guess that's not too bad, I had nitro for 3 days , still was having symptoms so they gave me Trimo...It seems to be better now, although still weeing more than normal, someitmes get a burning in the kidney area. I worry alot after what I went through last year.I am now taking cranberry tablets, coconut water is supposed to be good so drinking that too and started taking probiotics .
I hope this gets better real soon, I can really understand the anxiety everyone is going through. I will continue to watch this thread, I am sure we can all gain some help this way as wel as support.

I have the same problem. I have probably taken cipro off and on for about 4 months and they keep coming back. I sometimes feel like i'm the only one with this problem. I've ben reading about Interstitial cystitis. Sounds like that my be it. I'm going to see a urologist to see if he can help. Hope everything gets better for you.

OK, so I got my first UTI in Feb. of '09. Went to the doctors and he prescribed CIPRO since I'm allergic to Sulfa medicines. Took CIPRO and the pain and infection went away. No later than about a month later, same symptoms came back. So I went to the doctor again and got the same anitbiotic.
About two months later, same thing, this time he gave me amoxocilan and said it was a yeast infection. I have probably had a total of 8 "UTI's" in 6 months. I am at my wits end. I wipe front to back, don't drink soda, pee before and after sex (when I have to pee), wear cotton panties, don't use smelly soaps.
This one I have now it worse. The CIPRO ( which they love to give me) isn't helping and he told me to take Vitamin C before bed so my urine gets more acidic and kills bacteria.
I'm 20 and have an amazing man in my life and don't want to keep being put through this **** hole. Anyone know of anything that will help!! It does help to know that I'm not the only one. I don't,however, want/ can't take this much longer
