Red rash > Started eye lids> then eyebrows > neck > itchy scalp/flaky skin
Red rash > Started eye lids> then eyebrows > neck > itchy scalp/flaky skin
Oh lordy have mercy!
I started off with red dry rash under eyes.
It then flakes like sunburn then peels off only in the affected area.
Next went over the eyebrows.(friend said I looked like something out of star trek)
Exacerbated by water, swimming ( favourite sport L )
The worst is the neck turns red when splashed with water, then scalp. Quite itchy.
So its red colour / itchy / then flaky skin.
Possible reasons:
Im a biker sometime have visor open
> that was no problem for the last two years
New motor bike helmet, allergy to a component like it plastic or glue?
>Im using an old one now to see if that helps.
Biker helmet rubbing when taking off and on.
> I bought a silk balaclava now
The swim pool I was going to when issue started had salt water – no chlorine.
>It may have triggered it but I don’t go there any more for months now.
Im going to stop swimming to see if that helps.
Ive used a baby shampoo for years for shower / shampoo.
Anyone any ideas what this is ?

Ive found a possible answer on the web (untested but will report back if correct)
seborrheic dermatitis ? Perhaps.

My daughter had the same symptoms as you, she is a lightly infected excema kid. When I did research I found that chemical sunscreens caused the eye troubles. (The chemical sunscreens were fine elsewhere but on her face, no.) So we have switched to zince oxide creams and Titanium Oxide creams and so far no reaction, YAY!! I hope this is the simple answer you need! Good luck!

Re: Red rash > Started eye lids> then eyebrows > neck > itchy scalp/flaky skin
I posted this original Q ......
Anyway here was my cure ........
I got 1 x Diflucan pill and used Nizoral shampoo.
I got insant good results in 48 hours of say 50% clearance
Within a month - I was all clear.
Possible triggers for me
- a Salt only pool I used go to.
- Plunge pool at the same place
- Nivea for Men face mosituriser.
I found e45 cream sooothing - It can be got in huge tubs / not expensive.
Water makes this problem worse as its fungal releated.
