tinnitus
2 days ago I got hit on the ear and there was initially some pain. That pain has gone but now there is a ringing left in the ear hit. I have done a little research and found that a ear drum can become damaged in this way and can cause tinnitus. My question is that if the cause of the ringing is the damage of the ear drum, will the ringing go when the ear drum heals?

Re: Tinnitus on Steriods
I had a traumatic head and neck injury - Broken C-5, Crushed C-2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Discs. After surgery, awoke with loud "Cicada like noises" and "Melodious Sounds" somewhat like voices and instruments unlike any sounds ever known.... Harmonized Melodies never ending. Endless in nature, Loud, disturbing, distracting, restricts my ability to hear people talk. I cannot hear the first few words anyone speaks due to the noise. Often, words being spoken to me are just noises until I am able to follow the conversation. I call these sounds, my "Symphony of Angels". 13 years later, I was injured again, in the same fashion. Surgery was not advisable, but new noises appeared.... Loud Hissing and Buzzing, in addition to the previous sounds. This is madening! What could this be?
