    Default questions about atherosclerosis

    my friend died of this disease. Is this genetic? Is the death painful? Could we hav saved her if we acted differenly. We gave cpr but not on a hard surface.

    I just registered here and have noticed that there's not much feed-back goin' on in here but I'm still glad this forum exists.
    The answer to your question above is NO, you could NOT have saved your friend.
    Is it genetic? Don't know! Even Doctors would debate on that.
    I believe atherosclerosis is an aquired degeneration, and if your friend hadn't complained of pains before, then I would say NO, that she didn't know. I am certain though, that if there was pain, it would've been instantly at time of death.
