How Do I Know If I have Lung Cancer?

Hi, i have Emphysema and TB Granuloma and have had persistent chest infections for some time now. I am also on Methotrexate to treat psoriatic arthritis. in the past i have had chest x-rays and have not shown anything new except those as stated above. i have an extensive family history of lung cancer caused by cigarette smoking and I am a smoker myself. I have had a bronchoscopy which didn't show anything but at the moment i have persistent pleuritic pain in my right side of my chest for nearly 11 weeks now and my GP has just advised to monitor this. I have a persistent cough and in the past hace coughed up a little blood stained sputum. As you can imagine i am extremely worried if i have something sinister going on and its being missed, what can i do?

UPDATE

I Was recently admitted to hospital after visiting my GP (again) and was given all the usual blood tests and x-rays but again they said bloods were fine, x-ray didn't show up anything new but have told me i have to get a CT Scan in a few weeks time . Still having pain despite being on Morphine,

Well, as a prominent medial insurance coordinator, I can tell you that from my knowledge it sounds as if you're at an extremely high risk for lung cancer. One quick MRI should tell you yes or no.

If you really want to know that you have lung cancer or not then you must go and see a doctor.Severe throat and chest infection cause lung cancer.And if you feels you are getting problem in breathing then you don't wait for none and immidiately go to the doctore..

Well there are many things to do if you have this disease and quit smoking first if you are a smoker then to look at the other things. Smoking is not good for health and its better to be quit and it has side effects and it leads to lungs cancer and as well as mouth cancer.
