Low MPV levels
I recently had a CBC test performed at my local hospital. I figured that all of my levels would come back normal. Well all of them did except for one: My MPV level was low 6.95. I guess the normal level is 7.40-11.00. I called my doctor to see if I should be alarmed about this level. My doctor stated that my level was fine and I shouldnt worry about it. I have a clotting disorder (antiphosolipid antibody) and I worry about everything. Cancer also has me worried becuase it runs in my family. I told my doctor this and she still said I shouldnt worry. Should my doctor have ordered other tests to rule out other causes for the low MPV level.

Re: Low MPV levels
MPV means Mean Platelet Volume. It's an indirect measurement of the size of your platelets. It's a very insignificant result. I can't believe they actually report it out on a lab report. I've been a lab tech for 20 plus years and can ASSURE you that this test means nothing. You're fine.
