trouble conceiving
i hope somebody can please help me. i am 26 years old and my hubby and i have been trying to conceive for close to three years now. we have had him tested and his sperm count is wonderfully high. My gyn has done three blood tests on me: prolactin, progesterone, and thyroid stimulating hormone. all came back fine. My gyn prescribed the fertility drug clomid for me and that gave no results. I am fairly regular with a cycle of 26-28 days and i have taken many ovulation tests and they show i do ovulate. is there anything i can do, or is there anything i can have my dr. check into on my next exam?

Re: trouble conceiving
Trying to conceive can be a very stressful time...are you trying really hard? It is one of those things when you try TOO hard you add more stress and you will not conceive in a stressful environment. Period.
One of the reasons that acupuncture is so successful for treating infertility is that it really helps with the stress. It helps balance the body and produces seratonin in the brain. I have treated two women for infertility and they both conceived rather quickly - a pretty narrow but good ratio!
Try to find an acupuncturist near you. Go to www.acufinder.com and type in your zip code. Also, take a high quality prenatal with lots of folic acid. EmergenC is a great supplement for you both.
And lastly, try not to try too hard.
Best wishes to you.

Re: trouble conceiving
thank you for your suggestion of acupuncture. i will look into that. also, i do take a prenatal vitamin and supplement it with vitamin C already. as for my eating habbits, i have limited my caffeine intake to one cup of coffee a day, and i eat a lot of protein, fiber and whole grains, and try not to eat too many carbs. diabetes runs in my family so i am trying to live a lifestyle that might prevent me from getting it someday. we have heard many times about trying too hard, so the last 6 months we have relaxed quite a bit. i have not taken the ovulation tests for 6 months and we just have a come what may attitude. but the new year has come and this has also yielded some results. the most frustrating thing is my dr. seems to be not too concerned about this and has given us no possable reasons as to why we are having a hard time.

Re: trouble conceiving
Sounds like you are on the right path and doing all the right things! Relax and enjoy having sex with your husband!
Also, he should be taking a supplement with vit C - I recommend EmergenC as it is readily available and easy to take and gives you good energy. Even though his count is high, there could still be issues with motility, size, shape, etc. So try to get him this supplement and then just relax and enjoy each other...you are still very young so don't worry!
Best of luck,

Re: trouble conceiving
You said that diabetes runs in your family. There is a pre-diabetic syndrome called PCOS that interferes badly with fertility. (Also known as Stien-Leventhal) I was misdiagnosed for 15 years with this. A nurse practitioner took one look at me, correctly diagnosed the syndrome. The treatment is glucophage to decrease the insulin resistance. I was pregnant in 45 days and my sister- also with PCOS- conceived in 2 cycles after starting glucophage. She had been trying for 2 years. Look this up and see what you think.

Thank You so much for that advice. You are the first person to give me any real help. I have never heard of anything like that so I will definately look into that Stein-Leventhal. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Re: trouble conceiving
Do you and/or your spouse have a stressful job? If yes, a nice relaxed vacation is also good. I concieved twice sometime around the time my husband and I took a vacation.
My friend's sister had a uterus that was either tilted or inverted and after surgeory to fix the uterus she got pregnant naturally - with twins. You could ask you gyn if your uterus is positioned correctly.
Another friend had tried for 5 years then had a test to check if her tubes were open. After the test she got pregnant. Sometimes the test clear the fallopian tubes if they are blocked.
I hope my input helps. Good luck!

trouble conceiving
My husband and I have been married for 1 year now. I've been pregnant twice and the first time they had to do a D&C to get the baby out. The second time the baby just passed with my period. How can I get pregnant again in a short amount of time? Are there OTC drugs I can take to increase my chances of getting pregnant. I am still 18 so it might have something to do with that. Anyone with answers that can help please e mail me at cute4u123@hotmail.com. ThANKS
