help for my friend
my friend is 63. For the last 15 years she has had almost constant cystitis and bad lower abdomen pain.it goes off for a week if she takes antibiotics but then back it comes.Over the years she has seen lots of doctors and hospital specialists. She has tried many herbal remedies and at present is drinking cranberry juice. She never eats spicy food or pickles. This complaint is not due to her sex life as she abstains since her husband died 10 years ago.Has anyone any ideas?Thank you.

Re: help for my friend
Hi, Has your friend ever been tested for Intersticial Cystitis? It is almost a hardening of the bladder, very painful... it was described to me as Arthritis of the Bladder. The only medication that helps me is Elmiron. I was told to stay away from caffeine, oranges and all acidic fruits, any tomato foods such as spaghetti, pizza... onions, peppers.... and as long as i continue the Elmiron and stay away from the foods that aggravate my condition I seem to be keeping the IC under control... Please go see a Urologist and ask about Intersticial Cystitis. Good Luck....
