Tooth infection
Hi I have a really bad tooth infection and I mean very painful. I need the tooth out but when I told my dentist I may bleed more due to my liver issues he refused to pull in, now I am left in a lot of pain. Not even permitted to take pain meds due to my liver

What blood tests need to be done to see if I bleed too easily, I need to have the tooth out my next appointment is Wednesday so I need to get the tests done by then,
Many thanks, Ian

Re: Tooth infection
Ian, I would recommend that you go to your local ER to be seen, and explain to them your situation. You need to have "Coags" completed and possibly a CBC to not only check your "bleeding time" but also your platelets. If you have issues with your liver, you should have a specialist following your case to monitor these blood levels at least twice a year. You should also be placed on antibiotics prior to your dentist doing any work on an infected tooth. They can also address this in the ER.
