    [QUOTE=EB160;190789]Hi Everyone:

    I am in desperate need of help, suggestion or remedy for the Chronic stomach pains, associated with aggressive nausea and vomiting that I am suffering from.
    My symptoms started Jan 2008, and to date I am still suffering from the unpredictable attacks. At first the attacks were associated with hives, but after seeing an Allergist and going through allergy therapy, I am now cleared of hives but I still have the continuous stomach attacks.
    I have been in and out of ER about 8 times in 2008 and to date I have seen 5 specialist, 3 x Gastroenterologists, 1 x Gall Bladder Surgeon, 1 x Allergies and 1 x OBGYN and they still can not figure out what is causing my stomach pains and the nausea and vomiting. I have done all the tests associated with stomach problems 2 x Endoscopies, 1 x Ultrasound Endoscopy, I’ve done the Barium Drink Test, I have had stomach x-rays, Cat Scans and have had a Colonoscopy and all comes back normal.

    My symptom starts where my stomach feels sour and upset, which causes me to burp aggressively, then the pain gradually builds and at the same time, the nausea feeling builds up and before I know it I am bending over a toilet bowl vomiting my guts out. While this is happening I feel the urge to pass my bowels, and when this happens my stools are either soft runny or constipated.
    These attacks are unpredictable and it happens anytime. The worst is when my stomach is empty, because I’m dry wrenching and gagging to vomit, but there is nothing to vomit. These attacks go on for a span of 2 – 6 hours. When it first started it was occurring every 5 days, and then 3 days and then it was every day. On the 8th visit to the ER, they decided to admit me over xmas 2008 because of the ongoing attacks which causes the visit to the ER. They kept me in hospital for 2 weeks undergoing many tests and all tests came back normal and the only abnormality they found was that my Eiosiniphils blood count was always very high. Eiosiniphil count is done through a blood test study which confirms there is some kind of an infection or allergies going on in the body. The Ultrasound Endoscopy test confirmed I had sludge in my Gall bladder which they basically concluded what was causing me to have these attacks and that I should have my Gall Bladder removed. So they sent me to a Gall Bladder Specialist, who in turns refuses the procedto remove my Gall Bladder as he felt that there is nothing wrong with my Gall Bladder and suggests I look into the field of Rheumatoid associated with stomach problems.

    Currently I am medication for hiatal hernia - which I take protonix for 2 x a day, and for the stomach problems I am taking Reglan (Metroclopromide) for management of nausea and regular movements of my bowels, Dilardid (Morphine) for pain management. I really don’t want to be on these medications for life, as these both have side affects if taken long term.
    I really am really in need of help, because this sickness is really weighing me down and making me feel hopeless and that no one can help me.

    Please feel free to share any information that you may have to help me.

    Thank you. [/QUOTE

    If they rule out everything else, ask for a CgA blood test and a 5-HIAA 24 hour urine test. The majority of doctors don't think to test for carcinoid cancer. They didn't find mine (misdiagnosed for at least 6 years) until I was at stage 4.

    Best wishes!

    I ask because some people, like myself, got sick of a medicine, like in my case I was taking a pill (hormone replacement therapy) which did what you described though I didn't vomit for that many hours usually - I did at first when I was on the highest dose. Just goes to show what a medicine can do! Once off it, I was fine.

    If you suspect it's any medicine you've taken and are taking, get off it but be sure to allow your stomach to heal - give it about 4 weeks after the medicine's out of your body (NOT after you stop taking it). To find out how long it takes for a medicine to get out of the body, call a few pharmacists and ask them so you'll have a time frame to go by.
    Hello,

    I went through something very similar for almost two years that would send me to the ER because the vomiting was so severe. Do you a typr of Aurea before the attacks happen? I know this sounds strange but from what I hear it sounds like what I have. Google Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. I have never do what this does. I will dehydrate in a very short period and my kidneys will begin to shut down because of the dehydration. There are two drugs that I keep all the time. Levsin and Phenergan. The Levsin goes under the tounge and the phenergan is topical so you don't have to put anything on your stomach. Like I said it took two years before the doctors put this together but it helps but I still have the attacks which usually last 8-12 hrs non stop vomiting and then subsides. I hope you find answers.

    God Bless

    I am curious if you have been successful in finding a cause or a cure. My problems have been nearly identical to yours, including frustrations with doctors never finding anything wrong. My problems have been going on for probably 4 or 5 years now and seem to be becoming worse. I gag quite a bit and in the past year or two, chronic pains have accompanied the vomiting. I have also only been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia although nothing my gastroenterologist has given me has helped, and my blood count is always weird. H. pylori and Celiac disease tests have come back negative. I feel like this has affected my life a great deal, I rarely have energy, and have become greatly depressed. Anything you may have learned and could share would be very much appreciated. I'm still in my twenties and feel as though much of my life has been wasted. We're currently looking into water contaminants, but that is still a work in progess. Hope you can help, I am beyond desperate.

    Thank you so much for your time. I do hope you are feeling better.

    I have posted this on a few threads only because I believe that sometimes doctors push you off to other doctors. My daughter (25) has been going through the same thing for 3 years. She has had multiple test, scans, labs, xrays you name it. Has seen multiple doctors. She was told IBS (cop out). She has been suffering with lots of abdominal pain for so long. She started taking probiotics, colon pills she was trying anything. This weekend she was getting excruciating pain on her right side, normally on her left. She stopped at an ER on the way home from a vacation. Again scans, labs and so on. They thought it was her appendix and admitted her. They decided to take it out even though all her tests were negative. The surgeon went in and did an exploratory laparoscopy. He said her appendix was a little big but to his surprise he found a urichal cyst and her umbilical was twisted. He cut out the twist and the cyst and removed her appendix. He said everything else looked great and this is probably the reason she has had so much pain for so long. It was pulling on her left side where she always had pain and when she pushed on her belly button she would get a strange pain and sensation. She had tears of joy at this discovery. Nothing ever showed up in any of her tests. She had CTs, Ultrasounds, Colonoscopies, labs, capsule CT ect. NOTHING. It took exploratory surgery to figure it out. Thank God for her appendix acting up.
