How do I get chlamydia and my partner was not infected with it?

that is very strange to me also cause when i found out i was pregnant and got tested and i came back positive for chlamydia and my partner had it to but we have been together for the past 3 years. im currently 7 months pregnant with our first and till this day i know i have not cheated on him since we been together and he swears he hasn't been with anybody else but me. how do i know if he's telling the truth or not.

i am going though some almost the same as most people here... my boyfriend well ex now but have been together for 8 months.he lives in a different state than i but we have been doing just fine with the long distance thing.when we first met we both went for std test and we both came out negative.he has hpv but never breaks out. we have not got tested in since than he calls me asking me if i have been with someone else cause he has been diagnosed with chlamydia.i went crazy cause i know i have been with no one else but him and he says the same.we broke up he doesn't believe me and i don't believe him.i love him so much and i'm looking every where online if there is anyother way that we could have got it. i went for my test and the doctor pressed against my sides and told me if i don't feel discomfort there that there is a big chance i don't have but that i will find out next week. he also gave me antibotics since my ex had it.i am so confused cause deep inside i do believe him. but i know i have not been with no one. could it be that i came up negative cause it was dormant inside me from my last partner or even him from his last partner that had gave me hpv and chlamydia aswell.but why would we have both came out negative and now him postive.or was he really cheating and turning it around on me now.could the hvp bacteria cause him to get chlamydia. maybe these are stupid questions but i'm confused cause as stupid as it sounds i do believe him. but he doesn't believe me. i have slept with no one but him. confused and in love

I just thought I add my experience. I been with my girlfriend for almost 2 years now and I have never cheated on her and she also claims to have never cheated. I been away working for most of the time since we met, so we continued our long distance relationship. I occasionally fly down to see her, however we have moved in together and started to have unprotected sex. Only since then did I notice a burning sensation when I urinate and she at the same time (week or so after having unprotected sex) had a Yeast Infection. I did a blood/urine checkup same time my girlfriend got medication for the yeast infection. I came back positive for Chlamydia. I been faithful throughout my long distance relationship and so has my girlfriend. I am not sure how we contracted this STD, but I wonder if it can stay dormant for 2+ years, like on me as a host? It would make sense as I have had unprotected sex with previous girlfriends, but to show up after 2 years.. its a bit strange. There is not so much expert studies out there on this STD, so how can someone know for a fact if your partner is cheating. I just found out I had Chlamydia the day after I got married.. and even though it has got me wondering.. there are all IFs. There are medical materials out there providing facts about how we can contract it, but there hasn't been any case studies to show how dormant it can lay in a host.. so I cannot rely on present medical evidence to accuse my wife of cheating! So just going to put it behind us.. just thought I pass on my experience!

i am going through the same thing me and my boyfreind have been together for 8 months i am 12 weeks pregnant and at my first appointment i was tested and i came up positive for chlymidia my boyfreind was tested and it came back negitive he abviously thinks i cheated and our relationship is defenetly not what it used to be no matter what i say he doesnt beleive me i talked to three doctors and they all told me im lieing to myself and am in denial i really just want something i can tell my boyfriend to get us back to where we were

my question: i got tested in nov of 2009 and my results came back negative for everything. got with my now husband later that month. since day one we've been having sex. feb of 2010 he leaves for a 6.5 month deployment. about a week after he left i ended up going to th ER bc of a pregnancy emergency. they did a vaginal exam. came back a little later and told me i tested positive for chlamydia. after i was discharged i immediately called my husband and told him what happened and told me he needed to go get tested too. he said he got a test and his came back negative but bc i was infected they still treated him anyways. ill be honest i was w/someone before i got together w/ my husband but that guy told me something might have been up with him which i why i got tested in nov 2009. after he called me i never had sex w/ anyone else until i got with my husband. i know chlamydia can be dormant but since i got tested in nov 2009 it should have showed up saying i had it. now how did i get infected but my husband who i had sex with for 2.5 months didnt get infected and according to him he wasnt with anyone before we got together and even after we got together.

My husband and I are going through the same issue right now as well...

I had a PAP done last Feb and everything was A-OK. My husband was already living here in Hawaii and I had recently joined him here the beginning of Aug. About one month later I had abnormal discharge and inflamation, suspicious right? First I was told I had a yeast infection and received medication for that. A day later it was "excessive bateria." Finally, a week later I received a phone call telling me it was Chlamydia. I am in the military so I had to see quite a few people just because I had been diagnosed with Chlamydia, all of them basically told me that my husband had cheated on me while he was here alone. This made him and I very upset, there were stereo-typing us and wouldn't even listen to what we had to say. My doctor suggested he get tested immediately and that we take the medication together. His results came back.... negative! I am going to get in touch with my Primary Care Manager tomorrow and hopefully get some answers.

My husband is in the army.. he's curantly in Iraq.. We are devoted Christians.. we were both virgins and totally faithful to each other. I was just told I have Chlamydia.. I told my husband the same day... he was tested and was also Negative. I'm hearing this a lot.... He took the meds over there anyway.. But I'm thinking it must be harder for guys to get... I don't know.. but seriously... I don't think my doc believes me either when I say we are faithful. Don't let this ruin your marriage. Something is off... I think their testing sucks.. and they may be confusing this with a different bacteria. Wish I knew the answer.

Funny you should say that, I went through the same thing with my soon to be exwife. She was found to have chlamydia after 2 years of marriage and I was tested and did not. I want to know how I did not get it. I never taken any anti-b or anything that would have cleared it. Does this sound strange? If we are wrong, than this could save my marriage because we are having a had time dealing with this.

I was told by the health dept that I had chlamydia. My husband had no symptoms and got tested, which came back negative. I have never been with any other man besides him and I know for a FACT that he has never cheated on me. He was furious, assuming that I had cheated on him. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed, not with chlamydia, but with bacterial vaginosis. The doctor said that BV can be caused by a number of things, including douching, and is NOT an STD. I guess it's a good thing I got a second opinion instead of listening to the freaking health department, which almost cost me my marriage!

I am currently in the same situation. My husband and I are very close and faithful to each other in every way. Last year we had our 3rd child. All tests that were done then were fine. I am currently 5 months pregnant and I go through the same tests and now I am positive for Chlamydia. The do prescribed me Arythromycin to take along with my spouse, but I wanted a second opinion to the second day, my husband and I went to our local STD clinic to get another test done. I got a call from our doctor saying that the lab is currently out of the testing kits for this particular test, and that we are clear for all other STDs. My husband was not at all shocked or mad, or hesitant to get the tests with me so I don't know what to think...especially if they keep telling me that it is only through sex that you can get it. I dont believe it. Maybe it tested positive because I have a UTI? I dont know, are there bacteria that mask Chlamydia?

It absolutely has to be possible that one can be negative and one positive!!! I was just diagnosed with chlamydia I told my boyfriend immediately and he went and got tested with the results coming back negative. Here is the thing I honestly have not cheated on him but we are both aware he has cheated on me as he has a kid with another girl and he admitted 5 months ago he was sleeping with this girl again. (I know I know... Leave him right) for me to be positive and know in my heart it's not because I slept with someone else and him to be the one who has cheated throughout the 8 years an get off Scott-free is very irritating and frustrating. This disease clearly needs to be researched more!!!
