Fluid in back of my head feeling
i have a question. I have been to the doctor and noone knows what i am talking about. In my t-1-4 area I get a sharp pain that starts with a dull ache like i ruptures something then i feel like the spinal fluid is rushing to the cerebelum in my brain. I keep a headache for at lest 24-36 hours after that and while this is going on I get a temporary paralisis ( not sure how to spell it) for about 30 seconds to a min then everything is working agin but i have a massive headache after it happens then it becomes dull. This is the only way i can explain it. If anyone know what i am talking about please email me at notgiven at yahoo dot com. I really need help in finding out what this is. I live in a small town and they dont know what it is. I really need the help.. Thank you for any help...K

Re: Fluid running down back of my head feeling
As strange as it sounds, I have posted with a constant headache and fluid draining into my ears and neck. No doctor seems to believe me or find the cause though the symotom of fluid draining is so unmistakeable it cant be anything else especially when my headaches increase from it, my ears ring and my neck gets crackley. This happened to me after a sinus infection and has never gone away. Do you have any other symotms. I have been told that its impossible to feel the fluid by so many doctors but it is sort of a relief that someone else can describe that they know they have fluid running down the head too. It just cofirms to me this is possible, have you yourself gone for any testing.

Re: Fluid running down back of my head feeling
well i have the same sort of feeling and its happened extremely rarely like 3-4 times since it started like 3 years ago, i feel a sharp pain in my lower right part of my head followed by the warm liquid feeling. This is pretty weird considering i am 15, and i do not suffer from any panic or stress disorders. Im really worried but my doctor wasnt worried and my parents wont take me again so i would really like to know what it is.

Re: Fluid running down back of my head feeling
This is weird that I read this becasue I had just posted a question on another site regarding this. Here is my situation: I had nerve block injections about 2 months ago in my greater occipital nerve in my head and in my cervical C-3 in neck, month later had these same nerves burned, This was all done to help my headaches I get, which Im told are from previous neck injuries in 95 and 96 I had a fusion on c3 and c4 and a year later fusion on c5 and c6 from neck fractured two different times. Anyway I still get the headaches, but this past weekend I had a head ache for several days and that last day being the worst, to where I was screaming crying in tears I was in so much pain. It finally stopped hurting but my head would still hurt in the back top part of my head to the touch only. Even if I tried to lay my head on a pillow laying on the right or left side. I could only lay on my back and finally found a postion where it didnt hurt to lay on. This went on for 3 days, tonight I layed down on the left side of my head on a pillow lodged under my head with some pressure and I felt this draining feeling coming from my head and felt it run down my throat and layed there for about 30 minutes afterward, then got up and my head no longer hurt to the touch after 3 days. What was this? Was there a fluid or blood in my head that caused it to hurt and it finally drained and stopped it from hurting? Or ws it what they injected in the nerve a month ago that leaked out? Can someone please tell me something about this?

Re: Fluid running down back of my head feeling
Fluids running around the head, down the neck, poppings in the head - these phenomena indicate problems with the flow of CVS fluid around the brain. CVS is supposed to flow freely between the arachnoid and dural layers around the brain and down to the spine. You are not supposed to feel this, or be aware of it. If you feel it, the flow is hindered, squeezed through blockages, et cetera. The cause can be that the brain is bit to big for the skull and pushes the layers around it together. Or, the flow to the spine is (partially) blocked at the cerebellum and fluid assembles at some point higher up until it pops and flows elsewhere. Or, it can be that the CVS is too sticky and not fluid enough. All this can cause real suffering. It can be painful (the dural layer feels pain) or give itching sentations. Where CVS assembles, the brain gets pushed a bit and neurological effects may occur. Vision may be blurred when the optical nerve is pressured. Very often speaking is a problem. In addition, nobody understands.

Re: Fluid running down back of my head feeling
I started having the sensation of liquid moving around in my head (close to my skull) after I had a CFS leak. I have bad headaches and was told that these were a result of the spinal headache from the leak. Three specialists; a neurologist, a neurosurgeon and a spinal surgeon that are working on my case, agree that sometimes the body goes through trauma and that trauma triggers migraines and other headaches. Doctors don't know how these headaches are triggered. I am holistic. I don't like taking meds. I've been taking a caffeine tablet and cutting it up into 4ths (about 50 mg) once or twice a day if I need to. Believe it or not, cough drops seems to help as well. I'm my case, I have headaches 24 hours a day and when I feel the liquid move, I feel some relief. I've had success with neck therapy as well. After a while, when you have constant pain, you will tense up and it builds up in your neck. Have a Licensed Physical Therapist work on your neck. These things helped me.
