blurred vision in one eye
Over the past few months, i have had blurred vision in my right eye which lasts for most of the day. By early eveing the vision is much more in focus. I wear corrective lens but my right eye ,,looking thru it , is as if i wasnt wearing my lens at all! I have recently gone for an eye exam, (at the time my eye was in focus) explained this to my optometrist, to which he really never gave mye much of an answer. Was wondering if anyone out there has or had similar symptoms? I have made a medical appt to see my family Dr.
thanks
M

Re: blurred vision in one eye
I have had the same thing happen to me! My vision goes in and out in my right eye. I wear contacts as well. I went to a regular physician and he didn't know what it was. Tomorrow I am seeing an eye doctor.

Re: blurred vision in one eye
You may have Ocular Herpes. That is what I have been suffering from for the past 9 months (on and off). It always affects just one eye and my only real symptom is blurry vision that slowly clears up as the day goes on. Evidently the damage the virus has done to the eye allows moisture to leak in and over night it can't escape, which is why it is worse in the morning. It is the same herpes virus that gives you cold sores by the way and there isn't much you can do about it other than use steroid and anti-viral drops and hope it doesn't come back soon. Go to the eye Dr.

Re: blurred vision in one eye
I, too, was just diagnosed with eye herpes two weeks ago. Now symptom
free. After much research it is startling that this may likely be symptomatic
of something much more serious. Has anyone had this condition for a long
time and are there underlying causes of this that are not of major concern?

Re: blurred vision in one eye
try sleeping on your back.
I sometimes sleep on my face or wake up that way and as a result have blurry eyes for much of the morning...whichever eye that
i slept on, that is...just a thought but I would look into more serious reasons to be sure

Re: blurred vision in one eye
I have had THE SAME exact complaints as you. I wear glasses- mild nearsightedness, and my right eye occasionally is blurred most of the day, resolving by evening. With it I get double vision (up/down) as well. I have had my eye examined during the blurriness and the opthamologist says everything is fine except it is due to dryness. To which I say, why don't I ever have this issue in my left eye?? I do have an astigmatism in the right eye, as well. It was once so bad that the letter 'C' on an eye chart appeared 'chopped up' as if someone used black tape to make the letter. Make sense?
I'm frustrated as I have had this for the past 3 days now.
I would like to hear if you found a reasonable explanation for yours.
Thanks.

Re: blurred vision in one eye
I have the problem in my left eye. It is very gradually getting worse. After going to a specialist they can find nothing wrong with the health of the eye, but now are concerned about tumors on the pituitary Gland and have to do further tests. I will ask about the Herpes option but have never suffered form cold sores???

Re: blurred vision in one eye
I've had blurred vision in my left eye for over 10 days. started suddenly. Can't read (for more than 3 mn at a time), can't work, have an "out of my own body" feeling, feel dizzy. Generalist fist gave me antibiotics for a small ear infection = it did nothing. Then i went to see optometrist and ophtalmologist = my eye is healthy but they discovered (and so did i) that i'm far sighted in left eye. They prescribed glasses, however, they're confused at the suddeness of the condition. I've been wearing the glasses, it's doing nothing. Went to the doctor again, checked my blood sugar and tension: nothing wrong. I'm freaking out: can barely read, feel dizzy, fearing cancer, tumors, or eye shingles (I already had shingles on my shoulder blade 10 years ago). A friend mentioned the possibility of a virus that goes into your inner ear and blurs your vision?? The doctors I've seen are clueless; the specialists are clueless; the next step is neurological tests. Can anyone relate?
