Lupus rash?
Is anyone familiar with rashes associated with lupus? I have a painless butterfly shaped rash on my lower back/buttocks. I also have night sweats, chills, a low-grade fever, fatigue and weakness (all to varying degrees) for almost 2 months now.
1) Are the rashes associated with lupus painful or painless, or both depending on the type and location?
2) How common is it for people to develop a lupus-related rash on their buttocks?

Re: Lupus rash?
This is the third time I have posted this information to no avail. Please ... someone ... help. The doctors cannot seem to figure out what is wrong. I am very discouraged and somewhat scared. I would appreciate ANY feedback at this point.

Have you been checked for Lymes Disease? I have some of your symptoms and have been diagnosed w/ Fibromyaglia. You might want to see a Rheumatologist. I've been have symptoms for 3 years now. The Rheumatologist has helped some but some issues are still lingering.
Good Luck

Re: Lupus rash?
I have not been bitten by a tick in over 15 years. Not to mention I have not been in an area with a notable tick population in over 3 yrs. I have had several tests run as a result of my symptoms. Every test comes back normal. Thankfully my friends, family, and doctor are able to see some of the symptoms so they know it is really happening and I am not crazy.
The rash is the newest symptom. It seems in line with the type of rash that is associated with lupus ... but again all of the tests are normal. Is it possible to have lupus with all the test results showing within normal range?

Re: Lupus rash?
Get off your **** and you probably won't have a rash there. There are specific tests to verify Lupus. The Lupus rash is on your face not your *** and is very specific. Quit looking for something to be wrong with you and get up and start moving. Stop your whining. It's not cute and nobody wants to be around it.

Re: Lupus rash?
Are you overweight and sit/lay around a lot? How often do you exercise? What kind of diet are you on? If you're overweight and don't have a balanced diet and are not exercising daily, that's probably what's wrong with you.

Re: Lupus rash?
I am 5'6" and weigh between 110 and 120lbs depending on the day (as I have a thyroid condition that results in weight fluctation). I wear a size 2 ... so no, I don't need to "get off my ***" an exercise. I am in very good shape aside from these odd medical symptoms that the doctors cannot seem to diagnose.
I posted my issues to this website because I need help. I did not post here to be ridiculed by insensitive people who are not interested in helping me.

This is in reply to the person who sent in the 6th quote. Were you just having a bad day / or have you made a career out of being a "smart ***"?
You obviously do not have a "chronic illness", as some people do, so why don't you check out another site? Example......."Jerks are Us"~!

Re: Lupus rash?
Hello I really hope you are felling better. The person who wrote that very stupid reply knows not what they are talking about. I sure wish i could have found you sooner so you would have not had to wait for a real answer which is what i am going to give you. For all the people who read this no i am not a doctor i am better. You see i have had Lupus since i was 16. Now for the rash on your ****. Yes i hate to tell you but it is very common. When i get it i will have it on my ****, back, the tops of my legs just about everywhere but not the butterfly rash on my face. Mine will itch real bad but of course if you scratch it that will make it worse. Also for the person who said see the rheumatolagist well they are also right. Now the sad thing about that is 98 percent of the time that wont be your problem.. I know years ago i would say isnt there just a Lupus Doctor? Well no there isnt. I have learned more then they can tell me. I know what meds i will take and which ones i WONT. Well hey i hope i have helped you at least some..Goog luck there are alot more things Lupus will and can do. I know just last week my 25 year old daughter went in to see our doctor and he told her not to say anything to me but he sure didnt expect me to be doing so good or for that matter be here. Get on a Lupus website they know what you are going through not lke some of these *****. Sorry but if they dont know how we feel they should KEEP THEIR MOUTH SHUT. Sorry so long if you need to ask go ahead that is what this site is for right just have to ignore the ones sitting on their butts with no life. Good luck Brenda
