cervix lumps and cervix pain please help!
I am a 27 year old who has has 4 children is the last 8 years. since the birth of my last child (2 years ago) my periods have been all over the place, bleeding between 13 and 25 days a month. About 4 months ago I noticed about 7 small lentil sized bumps on my cervix which I wasn't worried about until recently. I have been experiencing severe lower back pains also if I touch my cervix it is very tender, if I touch the area just behind my cervix on the vaginal wall it is very painful. Now even if I cough this area hurts and also when I walk or sneeze. I thought that maybe this area is painful from wearing tampons very frequently but for the last week I have not been bleeding. I have an appointment with the gynecologist at the end of this month but would be grateful for any information about this in the meantime. If you have any ideas of what the cause could be?.Thankyou.x

It sounds as if you've got pelvic inflammatory disease. As for the bumps,I'm not sure what they might be.

I suspect that the bumps are cysts.

Thank You for your reply.
I have looked into PID and am confused as it suggests that it is caused by and STD. I have been with my husband for 8 years and before that time have had only 4 other sexual partners.
With each pregnancy I have been routinely tested for STD's. The problems that I am experiencing have only been present within the last year and a half. Could it be caused by anything else? thank you.Last edited by tinkerbelle4; March 13th, 2009 at 10:07 PM. Reason: mis spelling.

Hi tinkerbell, (love the name)
I thought PID also, PID is not always caused by std's, I myself got it when I was 28 after a missed miscarriage which meant I carried the baby for a number of weeks before it was taken away,..... long story short.....I wasn't well & in a lot of pain that went on & on, it was left untreated for quite a while & I ended up seriously ill, my case was extreem, I'm not telling you this to scare you, more to impress if untreated this can be bad, I was tested at the time for std's & I had none other than this. I too was married at the time. I was never able to have anymore children either.
Your symptoms sound the same. I'm glad you have a gyne appoinmtent as you really need this (or whatever it is) seen too asap.
Hopefully a course of antibiotics should do the trick. just make sure you keep on top of it, don't let it drag on.
Best wishes.....
