Tympanic sclerosis?

Someone please help! My 4 year old had her 4th set of PE Tubes placed this morning and the dctor came out and said that she has tympanic scelerosis in both of her ears, said it had to do with calcium deposits and they only did anything if she develops hearing loss, and then left it at that. I have no clue what is going on and can't find any information.

Please tell me What causes it?
How likely is hearing loss?
Is it something that will go away over time?
What exactly is it?

with sclerosis means a pathological hardening or thickening of a tissue. sclerosis is a result of an injury to the tissue, in your case i think its the tympanic membrane. what i mean is that in your case, tympanic sclerosis is a hardening of the tympanic membrane because of the small injuries casued by the procedure when putting the tubes in. im not really sure because i havent read anything about ears, only some odonthology, but the terms are the same. i dont think it will go away, but i dont think i should answer that, not about the hear loss either. if you think you didnt get enough information from your doctor, ask again! they have to give you an answer!

When you cut your finger and it heals, you have a scar. When you cut the tympanic membrane it heals with scar tissue formations. The reason that her ear needed tubes was the pressure build up from the middle ear not draining properly. Chiropractors are geniuses with treating ear infections. You just have to find one that knows how to treat the nerves that supply the tissues of the ears. You can avoid surgery that way.
