Unhappy Elevated gamma globulin in blood and urine

Hi. My doctor called me yesterday to say that I had elevated levels of gamma globulin in my blood and urine samples. He also told me that I have a hyperthyroid.

Could these two things be related? I'm constantly tired and my joints (knees in particular) are really starting to hurt.

I asked if he thought it was cancer and he said that it would be a worst case senario and that isn't what he thinks is going on. But he's sending me to an oncologist just to be safe.

Should I be worried about this? I've been seeing doctors for months now (for abdominal pain) and now this....

Please help. I didn't think to ask the doctor any questions yesterday. I was so shocked when he called me.
