Default Dont know how much more I can take..

Hello everyone. I came across this website by accident.. First let me tell you my problems....For the last 14 years Ive been suffering from all types of symptoms...Horrible sleepin[awake for days sometimes], pain in my joints especially my waist area and lower back, neck and shoulders, just as tired when I wake up, only about 3-4 hours of non continuous sleep, E.D[the most frustrating problem], depression most my life due to family/ethnic issues, migrane headaches which sometimes caused me to be blind in one eye and not feel my arms, bowel problems, acid reflux, constipation, very low energy etc...

Ive been to all kinds of doctors from traditional to herbal and Ive gotten no help...Doctors think Im a hypocondriac[?] Ive found in my research that my symptoms are similar to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Leaky Gut Syndrome, Depression etc...Basically I could have any one of those and Ive tried treatments for all of them without good results...

Ive tried Elavil, Ambien, Lunesta, Activive, Nexxium, and so many more Im about to give up on any chance of me having a good life...Im 34 years old and have been dealing with this stuff since I was 20 yrs old...Dont know why I havent given up before since my like is especially cruel....Any help would be appreciated.....

Im a fighter and I wont give up till whatever I have kills me or I find a cure....But its getting harder to deal with this ****...

    Abouttogiveup-
Mine is a long, long story. I've put it on a few health web forums. I had many symptoms which crossed over many different illnesses and conditions - yet no test could find anything really wrong - except for a couple of things which the doctors dismissed.
I experimented, researched etc and found if I took certain things to increase my temperature, which increased my breathing, blood and oxygen circulation to my whole body, it suppressed the symptoms (I was very ill - seizures, cramps, spasms, twitches, numbness etc. these symptoms cross over many different illnesses and conditions), and after 18 months of experimentation, the symptoms started to reverse. It took another 12 months to regain my health.

    I took 250mgs Vitamin B1 3 times a day.
    OR 1000mgs Vitamin C - 3 or 4 times a day
I had to raise the dose to find the right dose per my body weight.
I rose the VB1 dose to 500mgs per dose and the VC to 3000mgs per dose. These suppressed my symptoms for a few hours.
Don't take VB1 if on pain relief and I would advise anyone not to change any medication without seeing their doctor.
I also found that one teaspoon dark vinegar in a little water or juice at the night time meal - eased my constipation. It seemed to stimulate the saliva glands and helped with digestion.
    Hope this helps.
    ainee.

Sounds like you should check into pituitary problems. Check out the Pituitary Network Association. Good luck!

Red face Re: Dont know how much more I can take..

I know exactly how you feel. I have been suffering with the same symptoms and the only thing I have to offer you for help is knowing there are others who feel the same way. There is power in numbers and maybe we can band together and find out if there are any similar test results, ect. I am 47 and have suffered with extreme fatigue as long as I can remember. Over the years my symptoms would spike and taper for no reason. Currenly I am no longer able to work and therefore have no health insurance. I have no idea what my next move is as I live alone and have no one to help. Like you I am a fighter and will overcome this. I will leave you with a funny [very true] story.... A while back I decided I couldn't take the pain and not having any support from the doctors I decided to end my life. I am not a depressed type of person but I had taken all, I thought, I could take. Constanty sick and fatigued. I felt I had nothing to lose. With pills in hand, and for reasons only God knows, I decided to call the suicide hotline. A very nervous soft spoken man answered and I explained I had been in chronic pain for a long time and couldn't see a future feeling this way. TRUE story.... he replied that this was his first night on the job and he needed to put m call on hold. I thought this was a ploy to track my number but he quickly returned and I could hear the flipping of pages and then he started to reply pausing after several words. I knew he was reading from prepared training logs. It was exactly what I needed. I started to laugh and thought "I think my life is bad, this poor guy has no idea" I told him I think he needs more training and continued to laugh as I hung up. Looking back I realize my reaction could have been very different but as I said earlier depression has never been part of my illness.

Please don't give up - I'm in the same boat. I've been going to my GP for the last 15 years on and off with the same symptoms. I have an appointment at 2.30 today and I'm going to stand my ground and say I'm not leaving until they take me seriously. I have to have time off work every month and I know a disciplinary is on the horizon because of my health record!
We have to stand firm with our doctors and insist that they sort us out. They are paid a lot of money to do this, and as well you know, most of them are writing a prescription as you walk in the door. Go back to your GP and tell them exactly how you feel. I know what it's like - you get there, they ask you how you are and you say "fine" and go out not telling them what half of your symptoms are and exactly how much this whole thing is ruining your life. Now go and sort them out!! let me know how you get on....

thank you all for the responses....Im really trying to keep my head up....Its real hard dealing with this because my friends and family think Im making it up and dont take me seriously when I just cant do certain things...It sucks not having someone in your corner...I dont even have the energy or desire to have a girlfriend or to let anyone get close to me cause I dont want them to find out how messed up I am...Im trying anything I can right now...It is comforting to know Im not alone but sad at the same time to know someone else is going thru what I am with no light at the end of the tunnel....

I too have very frequent days off from work because of this problem...Just got my raise denied even though they know I have a problem....Well thanks again for listening....ttyl

Have you looked into food allergies? It explains all the symptoms and the progressive nature, the Fibromyalgia, the CFS, the leaky-gut & all associated digestive problems. If its a wheat/gluten allergy any pill you've been taking is probably just trying to treat the symptoms but doing more damage. Corn or milk problems could lead to similar results...

There's little incentive for the doctors to ID the cause because there is no prescribed, chemical cure. Although European statistics put the number at 1 in 100 (that would be 3 million Americans), Its only diagnosed in 1 in 4200 Americans. Its most common among Italians and northern Europeans. Some counties in Ireland report numbers as high as 1 in 33. Then again, some doctors suggest 1 in 7 people creates antibodies to fight wheat protein. Although the full effect is unknown, it is also known to interact with the brain through the opiate receptors and often causes withdrawl to people who stop eating it for the first week. Overall, food allergies and intolerences affect 1 in 10 people.

The tests aren't reliable. Some doctors want all six tests to agree, some doctors realize one or two positives out of six is probably good enough to see health improvement with an elimination diet.

Long story short, I used to feel like you and although the symptoms weren't QUITE as bad, they were getting worse as I got older. Now, I feel like a new person. No diagnosis, no prescription, no pills.

It sounds as if you could do with some more support. I suggest the chatrooms at www.immunesupport.com as you will find supportive ones there who have very similar problems as you.

CFS as you already know can cause similar problems.. and leaky bowel, pain and sleeping issues are often all involved in CFS. If you havent done already.. you should go and see a doctor who specialises in CFS to get his/her opinion and possibly give you a diagnoses.

To find a doctor who specialises in CFS.. contact your local CFS/FM support group and ask them for a recommendation.

kiwi.. lol.. that story is so funny. Maybe that not a clue guy is just what a suicide line really needed.

Visit www.womentowomen.co, somr really good reading.
It sounds like your environment is causing you all forms of distress also, which will make pinpointing your problems a lot more difficult. How old are you?
