tongue/roof of mouth feel cold
for the past week part of my tongue and part of the roof of my mouth have constantly felt cold, at times like a cold burning sensation and it really bothers me
there's no pain or change in color in the area and it's not my entire tongue or roof of my mouth, it's just sort of in the middle. If it makes any difference, my tongue has been pierced for about 14months, but taking my tongue ring out makes no difference. I've never had this happen before...can anyone help me?

Re: tongue/roof of mouth feel cold
I've had the same sensation sporadically for the last month or so, with it becoming pretty constant the last week or so. It started with the roof of my mouth but now it feels like my gums above my front teeth feel cold too. Very bizarre. I've done searches online for anything that could cause this and come up empty handed. I guess I'll be calling my doctor Monday about it, but I can only imagine how nuts I'll sound telling her my roof of my mouth feels cold!

Have you found anything out about what caused yours, and has it resolved itself since you posted? Hopefully you still check these forums so I can find out!

Are you sure its not caused by a menthol taste? If so it could be from Acid Reflux.

Re: tongue/roof of mouth feel cold
I don't know if that could be it. This doesn't feel like a menthol taste. The closest thing I can explain it as would be if you sucked on a bunch of peppermint candies or ate them. My cold sensation has spread to my esophagus and stomach now, which is highly irritating.
I used to have problems with reflux, but am on Prilosec and have been for over a year now. I was told to stay on it indefinitely since I had 6 ulcers that they found during an endoscopy in Oct. '06.
I've done extensive searches online and found absolutely NOTHING else regarding this symptom other than this thread on this site. I'd love to share information with the other posters experiencing this to see if we all have any conditions and/or medications/supplements in common.

Re: tongue/roof of mouth feel cold
For the past 2 weeks or so, I've had this cold feel in my tongue and roof of my mouth. I do have acid reflux. My gallbladder was removed December 16th, 2008. Maybe it's a symptom of that. It's really weird. I've also been transporting fresh herbs, such as rosemary, sage, thyme, in my car lately. Maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway, I'm really aggravated. Oh, by the way, is anybody getting bad headaches?

Re: tongue/roof of mouth feel cold
Well maybe we all have the reflux thing in common. Although, mine should be under control since I've been taking the Prilosec for so long. Maybe it's quit working, or maybe we're all taking the same med for it?

Re: tongue/roof of mouth feel cold
I have been having the same symptoms. Roof of mouth cold as well as eyelids and nose. How is everyone feeling. Has this cleared up, has anyone got any answers from the doctor?
I too had heartburn several weeks ago and was given prilosec which didnt agree with me. I have been off this for 2 weeks and have changed my diet so im not eating anything to provoke the heartburn. I dont feel like i have heartburn but maybe this is one of the signs that it is starting again?
Thank you,

Re: tongue/roof of mouth feel cold
My mouth/tongue/throat/cheek has been ice cold/soar/tingling for a year. My mouth has also been watering alot lately. I also have myocronic jerks the same time the mouth problems started (posted my notes/questions Feb 11). Anyone else with those symptoms? I haven't found any answers on-line. (I've never had heartburn.)

Re: tongue/roof of mouth feel cold
I also have a cold sensation in my mouth for the first time today (tongue, roof, inside of lips). I recently got a stuffy nose and have been taking decongestants steady for 3 days. I've also noticed that I now have bright white spots on my front teeth, so I wonder if it has something to do with saliva / nutrients.
I have been taking other medications as well (Yaz for 1.5 months and had taken 3 weeks of 800 mg Ibuprofen back in January).
Just thought I'd contribute in case someone found a connection...
