leg pain
I have pain on the outside of my lower left leg. The pain has become more severe in the past weeks. I have asked a few doctors what its, and I was prescribed muscle relaxers, which didn't help at all. I don't believe it is a blood clot, considering it is on the outside of the leg. Any ideas?

Re: leg pain
I have pain on the outside of my lower right leg...almost feels like it's a pressure with a dull burning sensation...it seems to be worse when I lie down.
Is this the same with you?

Re: leg pain
I get a leg pain quite frequently (getting more and more regular) sometimes when in bed sometimes when just sitting: It is just below the knee and feels almost like a cramp, but its not cramp, the only thing that sometimes clears it is walking round or laying front down with offending leg bent out at side resting elevated on a cushion (**** of a lot easier to do than to describe lol)
Have no idea what it is but do have back probs as well so maybe related.

Re: leg pain
Check out meralgia paresthetica on the web. I was diagnosed with this syndrom yesterday. It stems from a pressure on a nerve in the groin area, and this causes the burning, numb pain on the outer thigh.
It started for me as a small numb feeling on the right side and then became painful at times. When it started on the left thigh I saw a Dr. because I thought it had to be nerve related for the exact same spot on the opposite leg to begin hurting.
I am having an ultra-sound to check for any "masses" that could be applying pressure, besides my stomach.... yes belly fat is one of the causes, so it's diet time for me.

Re: leg pain
It sounds like you have meralgia paraesthetica (pinched nerve) See a nerologist he will be able to do some simple tests in his office and come up with a diagnosis. I just did and this is what defined my problem. I have had the condition for a couple of years and MDs couldn't figure it out. A specialist did.It was affecting my job. I had problems walking at times as well, felt like weakness in my legs. pain in the knee, groin area. It would come and go. Sitting sometime did the same thing to me . Kneeling to work would require that I pull myself up , I couldn't just stand up, no leg strength.

Re: leg pain
Hey Guys,
I have had similar pains in my upper left quad. Pins and needles after sitting, aggrevated by drinking, comes and goes pretty randomly though. Well I am pretty sure it is just nerves healing. About a year and a half ago, I was coaching hockey (18 to 20 yr olds) and took a slap shot in the left quad. It hurt and bruised as expected, and then healed without incident. About a year after that the pins and needles started and after a few weeks of it, i was told that it was probably neural. It donned on me that it could have been nerve damage from the slap shot so many months ago. The good news is that after a few months the tingles have disappeared and things seem normal again. So try and think back to if you had a major impact to the leg over the past few years, see if you can corroborate this.
