scarlet fever/skin peeling

My 3 year old had scarlet fever w/ skin rash 2 weeks ago. now his skin is peeling like crazy. his hands fingers toes and feet are peeling and the doctor says no treatment it will eventually go away. anyone out there have this before? what did you do?

hi, i'm 21 years old and i have just got over the inital stage of scarlet fever and am now peeling. i have only been peeling for a week now but i have been soaking my hands and feet in water for a couple of hours or having regular baths and then using some tweezers to peel away the excess skin. i then use a cream every hour or so e45 or something similar and a paraffin based gel such as Vaseline and it seems to have really speeded up the peeling process. my only advice would definitely be to make sure the affected areas are thoroughly soaked before you try and remove the skin as it may take off too many layers as i have learnt first-hand and use both the vaseline and a cream in that order. hope this helps.

I had scarlet fever at the age of 2 years old. My skin too peeled off my hands and feet. Till this day.....my skin peels. It comes and goes. I'm 35 now. I don't know and I guess I will never know why I still have those symptoms.

I'm 45 now and it still happens to me from time to time as well. It's annoying.
