Osgood Slaughter Disease at age 23
I recently injured my knee in an accident and when I went in for x rays I was told that I have osgood slaghter disease. I am 23 years old and have been told this is what teens usually get during growing pains. Is there anyother adults that have been diagnosed with this and if so did you get surgery? Any info would be helpfull. Thanks all

Re: Osgood Slaughter Disease at age 23
Hi there, i hope your still reading this post, i will bookmark it incase of replies. I recently went to the doctor and they said i have OSD also. I'm a 21yr old guy, researching it on the net, it seems to appear in middle aged teens. I had my xray scan the other week, have a MRI scan in a few weeks time. Surgeoy is one option, i don't know what i'm going to do...The doctors didn't really have much confidence...

I am 26 yr old and have had osgood schlatter since I was 12. Over the years nothing has changed, I find that in cold weather, cold water, etc. my knee hurts worse but here lately after starting P90x, the pain is almost unbareable. I was never told that this would go away.

Re: Osgood Slaughter Disease at age 23
im 21 years old now ive had osgood since i can remember 9/10 yrs old. The pain is getting to the point where im looking for really anything. Surgery is an option but i heard the pain is the same after surgery so for me i dnt see the point. Plus i have no insurance. I cant walk for long becasue they start hurting really bad. Its affecting my daily life now. Does anyone know "anything" i can do? So far medical marijuana helps numb the pain ..but i cant be doing that all day . I usually use it before bed so that i can sleep comfortable . Becasue most of the time the pain wont even let me sleep
