    Unhappy Immune System

I get sick all the time, at least once a month. I have severe allergies, but am allergic to allergy shots (the serum), so no treatment works. Is that why I am sick all the time or is there something wrong with my immune system? If anyone has suggestions or thoughts I would appreciate it. Thanks!

have they run any blood tests? Are you sick with something other than allergy related things? Sometimes if your anemic ur body is fighting something internally or you have a hard time fighting off things. I'd talk to ur doctor about getting some blood tests run if you haven't. There are lots of diffrent things that can cause your immune system to be down. Mild to serious causes.

They run tests on me constantly. Nothing found yet. I usually get sick with colds or sinus infections.

Hmm... I don't know!!! I get sick alot too but I'm constantly anemic ...althought its improved some. It usually just improves enough just in time for me to get sick again. I've gotten so sick from just a sinus infection I had to be hospitialized for a week. The drainage turned into an abcess in my throat, which effected me being able to move my head and neck, almost effected my spine. The doctor said we were lucky we caught it. I was so anemic at that point that my body couldn't fight ANY infection. Thats why I asked about anemia.

Sometimes I think there are just some of us, destined to be sick. I just don't know. You could always talk to ur MD about seeing another dr... who specializes in things like that.

Luckily I never get sick to the point of hospitalization. Antibiotics usually take care of the sinus infections. The last time I tried to donate blood they said I was borderline anemic. I am just tired of being sick and my boss actually threatened to fire me yesterday, so I thought maybe I should try to get some thoughts on it to see if I should persue tests or whatever.

I am also wondering what is wrong with my immune system and struggling with something similar. I feel as if I get the flu once a week. I am home sick today and I was sick last week around the same time and the week before. It comes and goes and I find myself calling in sick on average once a week. I 'm also afraid I will end up losing my job. I already know the people at work are wondering what is wrong with me. It has gotten worse since September and the onset of the cold, rainy northeast weather. My symptoms right now are achy muscles and joints as you might get with the flu and I often wake up with these symptoms. My throat is also scratchy. I do have mild seasonal allergies and have gone through the series of allergy tests but none of my allergies were so severe that I should be feeling this sick once every week. My muscles and joints feel so stiff and painful right now that if I sit still for too long I can barely move.

I have researched what foods and vitamins increase your immune system and I have actively altered my eating and exercise habits to boost my immune system. Nothing is working. Also 3 or 4 times per year I'll get a sudden onset of a dizzy spell that is accompanied by fatigue, shaking hands and heart racing and it's not anxiety related or associated with any stress symptom I am having at the time. It usually lasts a few hours and then passes.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?
