can't walk..need diagnosis
Can run, walk backwards, skip. CANNOT walk or stand. Slight tremor in right hand, but Parkinson's is ruled out after many extensive neurological tests, and the Parkinsons dopemine drug made me worse. No appetite. Can anyone help me?

Your post does not say why you cannot stand or walk. Is it too painful? Is it a balancing problem?
Are you on any medications? Is the tremor in your hand only while it is at rest or only while in use or both?

Re: can't walk..need diagnosis
I am actually writing this on behalf of my best friend.
The tremor is there always, while in use or resting, AND IS ONLY HER RIGHT HAND.
She cannot walk and does not know why. The doctors say that her reflexes are normal and her muscles are strong. There is no weakness or dizziness. They have done Ct scans, and brain scans, and can find no reason for her inability to walk. She can walk backwards and can skip, but physically cannot walk with normal steps. She can stand, but cannot stand still. While siiting, she has to recline. She cannot sit up straight.
She also has no appetite. She had an MRI but no results yet.
They tried a Parkinsons med but it made her worse. She started having involuntary jerking of her muscles. She went off of the meds after a month, and the jerking stopped.
Would it help if I found out the name of the medication that did not help?
Everyone who loves her is searchng for answers. THANK YOU for responding. We still have hope that she can be helped.

Re: can't walk..need diagnosis
Well, I have nerve damage in my lower legs that causes poor balance and problems similar to what you describe. When I stand, I keep shifting my feet to regain balance. I can walk but I'm wobbly. The slower I walk the worse it is--faster walking gives better balance. But I can't walk backward any better than forward. My neurologist says the nerve damage is from "peripheral neuropathy of unknown cause." But similar nerve damage can come from spinal problems. I had lumbar spinal surgery to relieve pressure on the nerves but it didn't help.
The loss of appetite could be from depression. It sounds like your friend should see a Neurologist, but I imagine she already has. Good Luck

Thank you very much for responding. I truly hope that you can and will improve.
Your symptoms are very similar. Since Honey has gotten off of the Parkinson's Meds, she has her appetite back.
Thank you, and feel better.
