Question If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck...?

Is it a duck or something else??

I'm really not sure what i'm looking for in posting but here is my story. At my son's 15 mo appt he was diagnosed failure to thrive...subsequent blood tests showed low white count, anemia, low platelets...abdominal CT showed nothing abnormal maybe a spleen that was"prominent" but not enlarged. A subsequent blood test showed lower white count(slghtly) lower hmg(slightly) and slightly higher platlets
He has always been a fussy baby and spit up all the time as a baby. NOw He eats one good meal a day and then just picks at the rest.
He now,1 month, later has swollen lymph nodes in his groin, his neck under his arms and inthe back of his head.
He has on and off low grade fever, never above 100, is tired within about 2 hours of getting up. he is always getting sick( he has two older siblings...but myunderstanding is that infection causes high wbc). and his scrotum has been red and SLIGHTLY swollen for a couple weeks.
I was told the only reason that cancer is not suspected is ecause there were no blasts in his blood smear, however i have researched and think i found that up to 20% of blood cancers don't present with blasts in very early days.Does anyone know anything about this?
I feel liek i need to insist upon either a bone marrow biopsy or a lymph biopsy if not both. But he is so little and i have been told those hurt....:-(
I don't know what to do. DO i stick with the pediatrician or do i insist we see an oncologist/hematologist? anyone have any ideas for

Low white blood counts can be indacative of immune deficiency or autoummune diseases as well.

Sorry I can't be of more help...

    onescaredmomma....

your son is having "autoimmune" issues.

They are allergy related. The body has AUTOmatically built IMMUNity towards some things it shouldn't have..hence "allergies"

PLEASE consider NAET or BioSET as a way to treat him.

If you let me know what state you are in, I can help you find a practicioner.

There are hundreds of autoimmune diseases...AIDS is actually immune defeciency while chronic fatigue syndrome is the immune ssytem in hyperdrive. A diagnosis is "a group of symptoms"
If you get rid of the symptoms, the diagnosis disappears.

Truth is, he needs treatment, not a diagnosis.

    www.naet.com

read some of the testimonials...I've already written mine.

    There are many kinds:
    http://www.primaryimmune.org/pid/whatis_pid.htm
    http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/i/immu...erlyconditions

Keep in mind that the symptoms you are describing may also be caused by a number of autoimmune diseases. These can in some cases take years to diagnose.

Hope you are able to find out more soon tho!

    Best wishes

Nevery be afraid to get a new doctor!! If you feel like the one you have isn't helping, then find someone else and don't look back. And DO NOT feel guilty!
