Default Too young for Rheumotoid Arthritis??

Hi, i am a 33 yr old F. I have always been in really good health, good average weight and i exercise at least 3-4 times a week. I recently went to the Dr. with severe joint pain. Red swollen nuckles and fingers. It's been going on for 6 months. It has also affected my feet. I also have side symtoms like..shooting pain through muscles. He put me on a anti-inflam 1000 mils per day. It's been one week, they are not helping so far. Could this be Rhuemotoid Arthritis at 33? An additional question would be, is Rheumo Arth detected in blood tests or x-rays?

It would be detected in Xrays and no you're not too young. I know a 10 year old who has it.

what if your joint pain was from an "allergy"?
    mine was.
Joint pain was the worst of all 70 something symptoms I was having for years.

I found relief with Bioset therapy....there is also NAET

These are ways of dealing with dis-eases that are "auto-immune" (which they all are...)

    It is non-invasive and works.

    take care....mc

You can get arthritis at any age. You should ask if your doctor is sure of what type of arthritis you have tho. It can take years for some people while in others it shows early on in blood or even by x-ray. Some types of arthritis go hand in hand things like psoriasis or bowel disease, while others are a result of autoimmune disorders such as lupus or RF. Sometimes arthritis can start years before the actual disease and sometimes the disease itself is milder then the arthritis.

I strongly suggest that you talk to your doctor, since with some types of arthritis you HAVE to exersice to keep your movment intact.

    Hope this helps a bit...

Thank you for the responses. I have to call the Doc next week if the
anti-inflams do not work. It seems like they are not thus far. So it sounds like i may be up against some x-rays. I never thought an allergy could attack the tissues in our hands and feet? What type of Allergy are you dealing with, MC?

Kiera, i thought Lupas is often discovered at an early age and not commonly found in "older" folks? What is RF?

    thanks again.

Dear Here today... I was allergic to countless items. I was convinced all of my life I had no allergies. I was wrong, very wrong.

Please consider the first three sessions of Bioset. It is non-invasive and works.

I was allergic to everything from my own hormones to many different foods and substances.

We are very "programmed" when it comes to our thoughts on allergies. It was a challenge to unprogram my brain to understand this form of therapy.

Once you have been treated, your "allergy" no longer exists and your symptoms disappear.

If you let me know where you live, I will help locate a practicioner in your area.

I have helped alot of people in this forum find practicioners with very good results.

25 people I work with at my new job have already seen my doctor.
My fiancee went on Monday for his first appointment.

He said..." I see what it's done for you...what have I got to lose?

    Go get well....take care...mommy cat

Lupus is mainly found in people between 20 -30, but both older and younger people get it. It is often a slow progressive disease and it can take years to be diagnosed.

RF is Rheumatoid Factor and is part of a diagnose of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Sjogrens Syndrome.

About 50% of people with elevated RF have Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Thank you both. I will definately check into this furthermore. It seems as though the pain is spreading to targeted muscle areas...both sides, typically one side hurts more than the other. Time for some blood work as well, i am afraid this can't wait.

Absolutely not you can be born with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am 24 and was diagnosed at 23 with Rheumatoid Arthritis based on symptoms and family history of Arthritis (Psoriasis is another indicator). I had a negative Rheumatoid Factor and normal range CRP and ESR results. But I am what is known as Seronegative and it is very severe at that its unresponsive to all treatment so far im now on the ceiling Methotrexate dose with 2 other Disease Modifying Drugs, high dose Steroids and many other drugs
