Default Adult wet bed 2 weeks after gallbladder surgery

I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago. I spent 2 nights in hospital because my gallbladder was badly infected and my surgeon wanted to make sure infection was confined to just my gallbaldder. Experienced a quick recovery with no complications at all ......until last night. I have been sleeping on the sofa because it just seems to be more comfortable as my soreness goes away. Last night, much to my shock, I woke up at 3:00 and had urintated all over myself. I have not been having any problems in going to the bathroom at all, no frequent uritation, no getting up to go at night, etc nothing. This just happened out of the blue. HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF SUCH THING? My wife says probably still related to surgery but I think not 2 weeks later. I do have hemmoroids and have had minor constipation since my surgery. Also, I did drink a half bottle of water while lying in bed and went into a deep sleep quickly.

You should go back to the doctor; as you had recent surgery and was found with an infection and treated in the hospital for two days for it.

Excessive thirst and urination can be from many things such as diabetes, or infections (including super infections.=). * I had a similar problem after my gall bladder surgery and lots of anti bitotics and they found I had a super infection.

The constipation can be from being dehydrated or from pain medicines; and that too needs to be checked out to be safe.

I believe that you should call your surgeon ASAP and tell him/her you are having possible post-op problems after a surgery 2 weeks prior. Please don't delay either; since you had to remain in the hospital longer due to your infection, you could have a super-infection after having been on an antibiotic in the hospital. Or a bad intestinal candida infection.

Call the dr who did the surgery ASAP right away or get in to your primary dr at least. It is best not to wait when it is a possible infection after a surgery . Such a delay in getting diagnosis and treatment can make things much worse in a hurry.

Keep us posted. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm thinking just the opposite. You were asleep in an different place than usual, you just drank at least 12 oz., you went into a deep sleep and you probably still have some of the anesthesia in your blood stream. Yes, after two weeks. Also probably some pain pill residuals also. If you are inactive, and your metabolic rate has become slower, then drugs will not be processed through the liver as fast as normal. Be kind to yourself. Peeing while asleep is not that big a deal. Once.

    Are you running a fever?

    Any other symptoms going on?

You say your soreness goes away on the sofa; please explain.

I do think though because you are so soon post-op that you should play it safe and get yourself checked out. You did say the gallbladder was found to be badly infected . Hopefully Rad is right. But just in case you have something else going on related to the gallbladder surgery, ask the dr about it.

I hope you are feeling better by now. How are things going now for you since that surgery?
