For the past several months and approx. 90% of the month, I have experienced hoarseness that comes on midday. I don't do excessive talking at my work, I am not a smoker nor am I around smokers, but by midday my voice is sounding strained and by late afternoon it will be almost gone. The next morning it is okay, but again by midday, the hoarseness starts all over. I have not had a cold, been diagnosed with allergies, do not have a sore throat, etc.
Can anyone tell me what might be causing this?

Have you had this checked by an ENT? I had a similar problem a couple of yrs ago and the GP just kept telling me it was larengitis, for months. But I pushed the issue and saw an ENT. Guess what, a large vocal cord polyp!!! The dr removed it asap. This may not be your cause, but its best to let those who are specialized look into this. Please get looked at by an ENT.
