Perineal Yeast Infection
I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on how to treat a perineal yeast infection?
I've been persistently plagued by vaginal yeast infections on and off for the past month, doctors are still trying to figure out why.
This most recent infection the doctor prescribed me 5 diflucan, to take over the coarse of four days, and also for the first time: metronidazole, for a possible case of bacterial vaginosis.
I've been treating this yeast infection for quite some time, tried many different things, including an over the counter yeast infection treatment, which had no effect.
The doctor keeps prescribing me large ammounts of diflucan, which makes the yeast go away for a couple of days, but then it comes right back. There has been quite a bit of yeast on the outside of the vagina, on the inner labia and on the perineum. I thought maybe the reason it keeps coming back, is because the diflucan is treating it from the inside, but then the yeast on the outside reinfects it?
So, I did a bit of reading on it, and desparate to find something that would work, I got a tube of clotrimazole, which is usually used for athelete's foot, and jock itch.
I put it on(and a little bit in) the vagina, as well as on the inner labia and perineum. It caused some pain and bleeding(but I don't know if the bleeding is actually from the clotrimazole, or if it's from the vaginal irritation I already had) on the vagina, but soon, the yeast was gone. All the yeast accept the yeast on the perineum.
I don't know what can be wrong with me, but I just really want to get rid of this, and I really do not have enough money to keep going to the doctor. The doctor has taken some tests, they aren't back yet, to try to find out what's causing this.
But, in the mean time, does anyone please know what can get rid of the yeast on the perineum? I don't care what it takes, I just really want to get rid of this, as soon as possible. I sort of think(hope), if I can just get rid of the yeast on the perineum, I'll stop getting reinfected.
If i keep applying clotrimazole, will the yeast on the perineum eventually go away?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Perineal Yeast Infection
I would take PROBIOTICS. It is the good bacteria to help rid bad like yeast. I got frequent yeast infections and DIflucan caused me to have an allergic reation which is another story in itself. The only thing I found to help is taking PROBIOTICS. You can purchase them at a health food store. The best kind in the one that is refrigerated- Natures Way. I found that when I do tend to get them I take 2 capsules 3XDAY for 2-3 and WAAAM its gone. You can use it as a maintance pill taking 1 everyday. Hoep this helps like it did me GOOD LUCK.
