genital symptoms
I recently had unprotected sex with a guy i am seeing, he has redness around the tip of his *****, beneath the foreskin which he says is sore but does not itch, it has no blistering or any discharge.
I have noticed a burning sensation on urination occasionally, and every now and again i get a whitish discharge and some itching but no noticeable rashes or anything. Last night for the first time ever i also felt abdominal pain during intercourse.
Could it be something serious or more likely a fungal/yeast (candida) infection? Is that highly likely having a lowered immune system function since glandular fever infection last year?
Or could it be two different things alltogether?
Concerned.

Re: genital symptoms
Run, don't walk to your county STD clinic. You could have anything and you both need to be treated. He should go with you, too. Unfortunately, they don't test for herpes and you will need to pay for blood work with a private doctor if the free clinic does not find anything. You don't need to see a rash to have herpes or for your boyfriend to spread it. You should also have a pap and eliminate warts. They need to check for syphillis, too.

Re: genital symptoms
According to the net, we both have many symptoms of candida. He took the spit test and i also read that it is not reliable as a diagnosis but the result of it indicated that he might have Candidiasis. He is going to the dr in a few minutes to find out for definite, and yes i will be getting a pap smear and full STD check done anyways, no matter what his results are.. Cos its about time i got it all done.
