Re: Help ....i Need To Stop Snoring!
Have you had your tonsils and adnoids removed. My parents told me (it was so bad, I remember this still) that when I was two, I would snore so bad it would cause me to stop breathing and they would have to pick me up or move me to breathe. I had swollen tonsils and adnoids 2x their size. Removal of these has completely helped. Now, my bf snores like I have never heard, and it is impossible to get any sleep. If it is not that bad, try Breathe Right.

Re: Help ....i Need To Stop Snoring!
I agree. I had chronic fatigue for 15+ years before I discovered that it was caused by sleep apnea and a low degree of anxiety. I also snored, but because I haven't had a sleeping partner in many years, I didn't know that until I had a night in a sleep lab ... which was when the apnea was diagnosed.
So yes, consult a neurologist or ENT (ear-nose-throat) about whether you might have apnea.

Stop Snoring with Asonor Anti Snore Remedy
Most people make at least a few snoring like noises throughout the night, and this is nothing to worry about. It is when the noises are extremely loud and prolonged that you need to look for a solution. The tossing and turning and train like snoring noises can wake up your spouse or partner, and then you could be in all sorts of trouble. To stop snoring i can personally recommend a very good product which helps us relieve from snoring. The product is asonor.

I've heard that lowering UA (uric acid) can reduce/cure snoring.
Have never tried that, though...Last edited by moderator; August 28th, 2010 at 06:57 AM. Reason: link to site removed - moderator

Re: Help ....i Need To Stop Snoring!
Have you had a sleep study? It sounds like sleep apnea.
I'm a retired vet with many of the same problems, which have actually been narrowed down to sleep apnea (SA). Rhinitis can actually be a symptom of the SA because as you get more and more fatigued, your nose starts running (at least mine does). Severe headaches in the morning, fatigue and weight gain are also symptons of SA. Sleeping during the day and up all night.
I was diagnosed with rhinitis and asthma because I would wake in the middle of the night unable to breath. I even had "attacks" during the day being unable to breath. Using abuterol inhalers helped some, but never really made me comfortable. I just suffered along with it. Although I was confused about the asthma as no one in my family had ever shown and symptoms, I had a tendency to believe the doctors because I came from a very dry climate (Montana), and I first had a breathing problem in 1977 in Anchorage, Alaska, during a tour of duty at Elmendorf AFB. Anchorage has a humid climate, but the temperatures make it very comfortable to live.
The inhalers worked to a degree, but I was never really satisified with the results. This went on wherever I as stationed for the next 17 years before I retired in 1994.
I had follow-on assignments in Montana, Maryland, and finally Ohio. I was having breathing problems, and extreme fatigue, but I just suffered along. At my last duty station in Ohio, my medical problems increased. I had shortness of breath, with many trips to the emergency room both day and night (it's very humid in Ohio, but not as bad as Maryland). I also had weight gain, extreme fatigue, severe headaches on waking, and hypertension. I suffered with this for another nine years until the fatigue became so severe, I had trouble staying awake at work and driving to and from work. I was miserable.
My doctor finally ordered a sleep study which I had in Jully 2003. I was diagnosed with light to moderate SA. I finally got my titration in December 2003, but before I could get a CPAP, I had a stoke January 1, 2004. It was a hemoragic stroke with a blood vessel rupture in my left brain. I was out of the hospital in five days and spent four months in rehab before I could return to work.
I finally got my CPAP in February 2004 and suffered along with it for three years. I was better than before, waking only two or three times a night (every couple of hours instead of every couple of minutes). I would wake up gasping for breath and it would take about an hour to get back to sleep. It was better, but not ideal. I felt as if I was hyper-ventilating but the doctor said it was just SA and nothing more could be done.
After reading many SA blogs, I stumbled across references to an automatically adjusting CPAP, an APAP, that appeared to help with the problem I was having. I returned to the doctor with a request to try the APAP, but it fell on deaf ears. I annoyed the doctor until I got a prescription for an APAP. I ordered it on the Internet and received it the next day (a Saturday). I laid down with it and slept like a rock for six hours! What a great feeling.
Since being on the APAP, all my breathing problems have vanished including asthma and shortness of breath, morning headaches are a thing of the past (I don't even have regular headaches anymore) and I have lost over 100 pounds! I'm now in the process of trying to get the VA to recognize it as a service connected disability.
Had I been properly diagnosed with SA in 1977, I wouldn't have had all the other problems I experiened over the 26 years until I got the proper diagnosis. A sleep study with proper diagnosis can change your life.

Re: Help ....i Need To Stop Snoring!
Consider these 5 Quick Ways to Stop Snoring: First, avoid alcoholic beverages before bed. They over-relax your muscles resulting to snoring. Second, sleep on your side so you can breathe better. Sew a tennis ball into the back of your night shirt for this will cause you to roll back on your side. Third, quit smoking! It is bad for snoring for many reasons like: reduces respiratory system performance, increases congestion, increases unwanted airway growths. Fourth, use more pillows. Elevate your head for extra pillows. Elevating your head can take the pressure out of your airways for improved breathing. And fifth, stop taking sleeping pills or sedatives before bed. They cause the throat to become too relaxed hindering the process of breathing properly. Consider taking Chamomile tea if you have difficulty going to sleep.
