strep complications?

okay so I got strep, went to the doctor and got antibiotics for 10 days. I'm on my third day on antibiotics, and I've still been getting fevers, which I'm keeping under control with motrin. Anyway, my sore throat hasn't gone away at all- really it just feels like its moving down into my esophagus. Has anyone heard of esophageal pain associated with strep?

How do you know it's strep? Did you have a throat culture? Did the results come back? It sounds like the doctor just assumed it was and started the medicine. Could be a virus.
