Default Re: Small White Itchy Bumps on the Palms/Fingers

I get these every year round about the time i get hay fever so i always put it down to that after the lumps and itching goes away the skin peels off my hands.

Recently 2 people i know have had the same thing but the docter told 1 of them it was contact dermatitus and the other was told it was a form of herpes like a cold sore.

So god knows what it is

Hi, I know what you feel I'm a clean freak and I wash my hands too often it irritates my hands and cause some of these pin-like watery blisters in my hands. I try not to wet it often and use gloves when cleaning. The one potion I discovered is a lotion called ocean potion suncare it's an anti-aging sunblock with spf 30 ultra light it's around six bucks when I bought it at walmart. And it works it dried up every blisters in my hands... and now I don't itch, it says its water/sweat resistant I think thats why my hand gets that way and it solved my problem. I hope it works for you too....

First i encounter two fungal infections in a months time (Athlets Foot and Ringworm) and yesterday, only to wake up with small, white itchy bumps on my hands. I have not changed any of my daily routeins (Shower twice daily, hands are washed regularly from working in the hospital) and the sheets are changed weekly.

The bumps are randomly scattered around the hands on the palms and some on my fingers. They do not look like they are puss filled but some of them have sorta a clear color in the center of them (Centers are like a pin-***** size if not smaller). I was trying to take a pic with my macbook camera of them, but they are too small to capture. they are about the size a 16 gauge needle would make when piercing the skin.

I have heard everything under the sun what these could be, someone told me maybe syphillis when described to them, but from what i understand, syphillis does not itch, and is larger red bumps.

I am DESPERATE for answers right now, i have not gone to a doctor yet because i do not have health insurance now (hasnt been offered to me yet) so i would really love to see if i need to seek immediate medical attention or not before i spend hundreds paying for stuff thats unnecessary!

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Could it be a form of Urticaria? I too have little white bumps on my skin that itch from time to time. I went to the doctor and he told me it was a sun allergy. Hope this helps.

Question Re: Small White Itchy Bumps on the Palms/Fingers

I've just gotten the little bumps on my palms and in between my fingers. They don't itch but are further symptoms of extreme pain, numbness and very bad swelling of my feet and hands. The swelling is now moving up my legs and the pain is so bad I can bearly walk. Heck, I can bearly type this message. My doctor said yesterday that I had just become part of a very large group of people that have this "thing" and there was nothing he could do for me. I don't buy that.

Exclamation Re: Small White Itchy Bumps on the Palms/Fingers

Ive had this multiple times, and each time it gets worse. Usually a cpl years between episodes. As mentioned by other posters, it's dishydrotic eczema aka pompholyx. The best treatment is topical steroids provided by prescription from your dr. The first time i had it was on the lower palm of my right hand, only a small spot that itched insanely and then the skin peeled off it. The second time it happened on my toes and I thought it was athletes foot. The 3rd time I had it was massive on both hands/palms and both feet, the soles mostly. It was ****, The dr gave me Olux cream and it was a godsend. It took 6 weeks for all the skin to peel away and was horrible looking. That was 4 years ago. Now at the first sign of recurrance i rub the Olux where it itches and have nipped it in the bud without a full outbreak. Definitely see a dermatologist, it's worth it. That simple Olux cream has saved me a lot of grief!
Stress, heat and illness can trigger an outbreak. For me it's usually intense stress. So I know thats a trigger for it.

I've read a few of these and want to pass on my experience. A few years ago a couple of white spots appeared on the pain of my left hand, appearing to be deep under the skin. This was just the start of years with the condition. It would flare up with many spots appearing just as the skin was clearing from an outbreak. Only on my left hand but it was BAD, fingers and palms. When pricked or picked the spots contained a slightly milky liquid, and skin showed an "indent" where spot had been. Only slightly itchy and not really painful but some spots felt "stabby" if pressed. I had for as long as I can remember had a tendency for athletes foot, and my feet themselves had irritated/slightly blistery skin at inner sides (not sole). I'd been to doc/ had strong steroid based cream but this seemed to have no effect. I had also had some incidents of watery blister type spots between fingers. I am now totally clear along with skin on feet. Whether coincidence or miracle cure I don't know but using Lamisil to eradicate athletes foot, suddenly my hand cleared and did not flare up. I did have a couple of tiny outbreaks but sprayed and rubbed Lamisil onto hand each time. Now I seem to be totally clear and have been for at least 6 months. Hope this helps

I've had this problem for 3 years now. Every so often, I get the tiny little clear bumps in between and on the tops of my fingers that itch like crazy. If I scratch or pop them, the skin dries out terribly and cracks a little. I've found that gardening seems to bring it on, but I get it all year round. I use an ointment cream like Ozonol because it heals fast and is greasy, so it keeps the skin from drying out. Otherwise I can't full get rid of it.

anyways, I noticed that it wasn't a problem when I was pregnant with my son and i go for months and months without any bumps on my finger and when I do have an outbreak sometimes it is really bad. I notice that they surface everytime I am really stressed and sometimes if I eat lots of chocolate it can trigger it as well. So I think our bodies must release some sort of chemical or whatever when we are stressed and that causes the bumps to surface. I use Monistat cream on mine doesn't always work. I also try to deep breath, try not to stress, drink lots of water to flush out any toxins in your system.

Does anyone notice muscle/sore pains in their arms anytime they have an outbreak? I used to feel a lump in my arm whenever I would get the blisters.

Yes, I am currently going through a very stressful period in my life (since May 09) and the itching, scaling, healing, and then start over again, itching, scaling, healing is driving me crazy. Actually , I am starting to feel like my skin is crawling. Interesting you should mention the muscle/sore pains in the arms, I definitely have that. I am trying the deep breathing, lots of water, but in this day and age, any suggestions how not to stress.

I think its all stress related! But ill look into that
Maybe related to Skin Lupus or Sjogens syndrome. The white bumps are not weepy.
Many doctor's will just give these diagnosis "contact dermatitis" or ringworm, for skin rashes but in order to diagnosis skin lupus you need blood tests and a skin biopsy. This type of lupus may be negative for Rheumatoid factor but the other antigen test may show that you do have lupus. Often it takes years for being diagnosised.

if your lesions look like mosquitoe bites, most likely it is an allergy attack and you could go into anaphylactic shock and die so i suggest you go to the ER immediately...I am pretty proficient in diagnosing patients,i am only an M/A but have had Angiodema before which started out with mosquitoe like bites lesion/welts...when I first read your post that is the first thing I thought so I will go with that DX ...just something in my gut tells me you are having an allergy attack that could be lethal...my allergy attack had come from latex paint that had gotten into my digestive system while using a roller painting for creative loafing when they had opened their gwinnet county office in 1993 -94,took me a week to finally go to er and the physcian told me I could have gone into anaphylactic shock (respiratory failure) and die ...BUT IF LESION HAVE A CLEAR LIQUID CENTER it could be herpes, which is pretty rampant because of the simple fact that county std clinics do not test pts for herpes because it is too expensive...so the general public is spreading herpes without even knowing they are carriers of the virus...our tax dollars @ work or not that is....
