Default Desperate for Answers for Daughter's Symptoms

My daughter has been suffering for a couple of months with a numb, but painful, drooping right side of her face, also, right leg is very heavy. Sometimes she can't feel it and has to drag it. Her right arm is also heavy, and sometimes she can't use it. It goes numb and tingles. She has many other symptoms such as headaches that lasts days, both eyes went blind for a few seconds. She has involuntary jerks of her shoulders, arms, fingers, legs, feet toes. Other symptoms that are just too numerous to list. She has had an MRA, MRI of cerv. spine, and brain and EEG. All have come back normal. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. She has burning and electrical shock sensations, pins and needles. Drs. say it is stress. We can't believe that because of other times during extreme stress, this has never happened. Especially since most of the numbness is on the right side. Memory loss, confusion and lost 20 lbs. Thanks so much for your help.

Conventional medicine isn't always the best at diagnosing such conditions...I'm sorry for your daughters illness. If you can find a lyme literate Dr. have her tested for lyme disease first. It has to be a specific and very specialized test...IGeneX Labs is where mine was sent. You can even order it from them yourself, but a Dr. has to OK the test.

And begin educating yourself about lyme disease. Google "Borreliosis "

It mimics over 300 other diseases, and isn't easily diagnosed. Can be transmitted by other means, besides deer tick. Only 50% or less of suffers have characteristic bulls eye rash. Onset often appears as an extreme flu that doesn't go away.

Also, have her do the test for neurotoxins, found on www.neurotoxins.com Dr. Schaffer has recommendations on the site.

    Best of luck to you

Sounds like something neurological to me--not stress. Has she talked to a chiropractor? Also she might request an appointment with a spine clinic/doc. It sounds like she has a vertebre out of place that could be putting pressure on the nerves. The other things to check are her blood sugar levels and request a head CT to rule out stroke (she could be having TIAs or mini strokes). Do this asap and consider calling an ambulance for her next spell. If it is a stroke or TIA then they can help with the diagnosis and getting treatment that could save her life.

I am very sorry about your daughter's condition. We get stories like yours here everyday.
Best thing I can think of is for you to visit the best Doctor of Oriental Medicine that you can find in your area. Look into NAET and perhaps Reiki as well. (naet.com)
I was sick and crippled in bed for months. Doctors were not able to help me- they had no clue. They wanted to say that I was "sad", that's why I had stabbing pains, tingling, numbness, rapid heart rate etc, etc, etc. At the emergency room and other clinics I visited I was given 5 different misdiagnosis. including Hepatitis- well my liver wanted to burst, but I tested negative for all types of Hepatitis.
I read the book "Never Be Sick Again" by Raymond Francis, and that was my first step towards recovery. I followed as much as I could from the book- changed my whole diet and my mind opened to alternative medicine.
Once under the care of my Doctor of Oriental Medicine we discovered what was making me sick. I had a strep infection running freely in my body, I had been exposed to toxic mold, and somehow I developed many intolerances to harmless substances including my laundry detergent, my bed, my pajama, my homework material, etc.
So what particularly was affecting me is not relevant, as something else can be making her sick and giving her similat and various symptoms.
Whatever you do, avoid giving her sedatives, or sleeping pills as that can be fatal given the fact that they don't know what is not wrong with her.
Usually- people ignore my advice- but just so you know, I am the only person here that was crippled sick and recovered in the last 4 months. I actually reversed my condition 80% and counting without the use of drugs.

    Take Care,
    Best.
    Maribel.

Wow Maribel, that sounds like quite an ordeal. How did the Doctor of Oriental Meidcine pin it to strep? Did you have a strep test with a standard doctor?

About the topic creator's problem though- I'd get your daughter a head CT immediately, and get a neurologist. The symptoms sound NOTHING like stress.

you describe your daughters symptoms as occuring on the rght side of the body, which idicates a neurological problem in the left hemisphere of her brain. an MRI or a CT scan could show the underlying cause (f.ex an anneurism, necrosis), if those come back clean do a lumbar puncture to see if th cause may be an infection

My allopathic doctor ran a full health panel and urine tests. She found nothing but protein in my urine, and blood in my urine (but she thought it was my period). She tough I did not have a urinary track infection because I had no burning, itching or fever. The health panel showed high liver enzymes. I felt fever but it did not register. I felt pain in my joins, but they did not have tools to measure my Misery at the ER.
I had tonsil stones. No pain but throat spasms. I could not speak my mother tongue. I could not even pronounce my own name. I had a bad lump in my throat. That was all "mental" according to the doctors.
I had several classmates with strep throat going to class sick- so it popped in my mind while at my DOM's office. I was constantly sick with strep throat during my first 3 years of life. She asked me about symptoms. Then she tested me with Jaffe Mellor Technique. And it came positive. Next thing, she tested me with NAET for strep- it was positive. So she gave me a NAET treatment on the spot and a prescription. My DOM is also a Head R.N. in a University Hospital- so she knows very well the **** they put me thru at the Hospital, the test they ran, and the lack of training to deal with patients like me and the Original Poster here.

Lumbar puncture or spinal tab can make people blind- and it is not going to save her life. Unless if the patient's fever is frying the brain to a coma- you may not want to use a spinal tab. I have had 2 of those and they are not memorable.

    To the original poster:
How old is your daughter? Is she currently on any medications? Did she stop taking any meds in the past few months? Is she taking birth control?
