painful lumps in torso
i have been in and out of the hospital all week and no one can tell me when there are hard painful lumps under my skin... i have tons... i have found them on my chest, on my sides, on my back, and on my stomach. you cannot see them, you can only feel them. they hurt when they are pressed on and cause sharp pains sometimes for no reason at all.

Re: painful lumps in torso
I am having the exact same problem. I have very hard painful lumps on my back, on my rib cage, my sternum, and my chest. I have been seeing a Rheumatologist for possible diagnois of lupus. These knots came up after that. They are terribly painful. We just moved so I now have to start over with a new doc and attempt and diagnois. Please post if you get any info and I will do the same. Is all of your blood work okay. I have some levels that are high but not sure how or it they relate yet. My lumps are anywhere from golf ball size to fist size, and if someone presses them their is no describing the pain. Your not the only one with this mystery problem.

Re: painful lumps in torso
I have many small lumps in my chest, sides, back and arms that are all just under the skin. They are very pressure sensitive and I have to be careful how I lie in bed. Lately, some will cause pain without touching them. The pain often wakes me up at night and is often accompanied by a sick stomach.
