Strange Bumps on Toddler--Please Help
My 3 year old had developed some very unusual bumps. They are not red, do not itch and are not irritating. They started on her neck and are now continuing to "spread" she has 2 on her eyelid, and now randomly one on her leg and one on her stomach. They are raised and when my mom picked one of them, there was no fluid, only a hard white rock-like sliver. The removal of he sliver caused the bump to bleed, and it took almost a week to heal. I am taking her to the doctor this week, because now there is a whole new set of these growing on her cheek. What is also wierd is that she has no other symptoms until this week, she has had 3 nosebleeds while she slept. I have 3 children and have never seen anything like this, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Jem

Did you ever find out what the bumps are? My toddler has a similar sounding condition and we do not have very good health insurance right now. I'd be interested in hearing what you found out, if you see this post.
Thanks,Sarah

I too have the same situation in my 18 mo. old. I'm taking her to the Dr. tomorrow, but if anyone has some extra info, it is always greatly appreciated.

The Dr. told me that my daughter (18 mo.) had keratosis pilaris. It is a condition that could be chronic, something that comes and goes an d the common over-the-counter treatment is a cream called Lactic-Aid. I will post any improvement in her skin FYI!

I took my 2 year old daughter to the dermatologist today. He said he could prescribe a medicine that would do a chemical peel but it would make her skin semsitive and probably burn. He said the best over the counter medicine was Cerave. They have a Cream that is in a round jar. He said we should see results in a month and we are scheduled to go back. I am hoping for it to work!

my son has spots on his skin ... looks like left-over marks from chicken pox. developed when he was around a year old ... mostly on back & torso area. the red marks may swell up some if you scratch them. Not sure if this is the same as what is discussed in the questions here (no nosebleeds with my son). Dyagnosis is Uticaria Pigmentosa (UP) ... I'm told the spots likely will fade during puberty.

Re: Strange Bumps on Toddler--Please Help
All my children have gotten what it sounds like your describing. And when you pinch it, the hard core is contagious. It is called molluscum. I think it is related to the viral wart family. Any way you can look up all about it. There are differnt treatments, but if it's not so bad they will eventually go away. If your child scratches one and the core comes out and bleeds, try to wash the area right away and cover it with a band-aid. The way you describe it I'm sure this is what it is. Good Luck!

Re: Strange Bumps on Toddler--Please Help
I have a 3 1/2 year old and she has had these rash spot outbreaks since July of this year. I have taken her to the hospital, doctor, dermatologist, and have had creams, meds, you name it. I am really worried because we cannot get answers and the spots keep appearing and disappearing. They itch her and appear on her tummy, chest, arms, legs, and cheeks. I really hope were not alone on this situation, it seems maybe not. If anyone has any advice or similar stories, I'd love it.

I also have a 17 month old that has red spots that keep appearing and disappearing. His have a bump in the middle. When I stretch the skin, the redness goes away. My doctor has seen one and didn't seem concerned. My son just woke up and his knees are red, inflamed, and have the bumps. He also has other spots on his legs and arms. I am going to the doctor today, so I'll let you know what he says.
